Heritage River Trail to close for rehab work

May 17, 2024 | 9:30 AM

PRINCE GEORGE — The City of Prince George will close the Heritage River Trail from May 21 to June 14 for rehabilitation work.

The trail is located between the Replica Bridge in Cottonwood Island Park and the Cameron Street Bridge.

The City says the work is necessary because the asphalt has become uneven and cracked in places along the trail due to age and damage from tree roots. This new gravel path will create a smoother trail and increase accessibility for users.

The rehabilitation will start at the Replica Bridge (located near the parking lot by the Railway Museum) and involve removing sections of asphalt from the trail and replacing them with gravel.
