Get to know Cougars 1st round pick Dade Wotherspoon

PRINCE GEORGE — It was a dream come true for Dade Wotherspoon who was the 1st round selection of the Prince George Cougars in the 2024 WHL. A team that was always on his radar going into it. Now he’s another key piece to this young Cougars core.

Wotherspoon had an eye-popping 2023-24 season recording 103 points in just 27 regular season games. Then adding 33 post-season points helping the Martensville Marauders U15 team to the finals.

Dade was born and raised in Saskatchewan which has a long history of producing hockey players. Including a name very familiar to Cougars fans as Riley Heidt also played part of his junior hockey with the Martensville Marauders U15.
