Mechanical aptitude leads CNC Student to gold medal victory.

Being “mechanically inclined” means having a natural aptitude or skill for understanding, working with, and fixing mechanical systems. She took her talents to the provincial level and emerged as a top competitor.

Winning a gold medal as a foundation student was a huge triumph for her and CNC.

The competition assigned La Londe to assemble a gearbox that incorporates precision alignment using a laser.

“There’s also a theory component. So, you have to be able to answer questions about how the lubrication in the system works and what kind of bearings are in the system.”

La Londe is new to the industry and aims to become a certified Industrial mechanic. She has plans to challenge the skills she is learning at a summer national competition.
