PRINCE GEORGE — The non-emergency phone lines are down at the Prince George RCMP Detachment. It’s important to note that 911 service is not being impacted by the challenges.

“When an external person calls the Prince George RCMP Detachment non-emergency number, they will hear an automated response saying the customer is unavailable at the moment,” reads a press release from Cpl. Jenn Cooper.

Instructions for the public: In an emergency, call 911. To report a non-emergency, you can use our Online Reporting Tool for the following incident types:

• Damage/Mischief Under $5000 to Property

• Damage/Mischief Under $5000 to Vehicle

• Theft of Bicycle Under $5000

• Theft Under $5000

• Theft Under $5000 from Vehicle

• Lost Property

“For all administrative-related calls, please refrain from calling 911 if your matter is not urgent in nature. Once telephone service is restored, we can provide an update. We do not have an estimated time for restoration of detachment phone line services,” concluded the report.
