Trailer Park Residents Endure Four Years Without Potable Water and Proper Sewage System

PRINCE GEORGE – A trailer park with around 80 residents just outside the community of Fraser Lake has been without potable water and a properly working sewage system for nearly four years. CKPG News reported the same issues at this trailer park in November 2022. Many residents blame the province, as they are the park’s landlords.

For the last two years, Darian Hurry has been wrestling with 40-pound water bottles to pour his daughter a glass of water. His home does not have drinkable water, and the park’s sewer systems are backing up.

According to residents, the province took over the trailer park a few years ago, and residents continue to call them to ask for help fixing the issue.

Two years ago, the province dropped off portapotties at some homes.

“There are older people that struggle with lifting heavy water jugs and that don’t want to be sitting on outhouses in the middle of -30 weather. “

According to area MLA John Rustad, the province has left close to 80 people who live at the Lakeview homes park high and dry.

Residents say only about twenty percent of the water system was repaired, and the sewer system was also repaired, but it now leaks.

In the meantime, Hurry’s children are asked not to play near the exposed sewer water, and weekly potable water deliveries are delivered to the homes as residents wait for an answer from the province. We contacted the province for a comment, but they couldn’t provide a statement for our deadline.
