Man wanted on assault related charges

UPDATE: Prince George RCMP are no longer searching for the following individual.

EARLIER: PRINCE GEORGE— Prince George RCMP are searching for a man who is wanted for uttering threats, extortion, three counts of an assault with a weapon among other charges.

38-year-old Jesse John Braaten is wanted on one unendorsed warrant for a total of 9 charges. Those charges are:

• Extortion
• Assault with a weapon x3
• Uttering threats to cause bodily harm
• Assault
• Uttering threats x2
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Police describe Braaten as 6’3″, 221 pounds, with balding blonde hair, and blue eyes. Braaten is considered dangerous and should not be approached, if you locate him call the police immediately.
