Alternate approval process for Aquatic Centre upgrade funding starts Friday
PRINCE GEORGE — Aquatic Centre upgrade financing is back in the spotlight.
The City of Prince George says the alternate approval process (AAP) kicks off on Friday and will remain open until August 19.
At question are whether voters want to approve or reject enhancements at the pool which would cost an additional $22.1 million dollars. Just under $15 million in improvements were approved and accounted for back in April.
The City says the alternate approval process is more cost effective then a referendum – which they say would cost about $120,000 whereas an an AAP’s costs are absorbed within existing business unit budgets.
