Flag raising marks beginning of Pride Week in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE — A flag raising took place at City Hall Friday morning to mark the beginning of Pride Week in Prince George.

Mayor of Prince George Simon Yu was joined by other city councillors outside of city hall to proclaim pride week in Prince George starting on Friday, July 5 and running until Saturday, July 13. To celebrate, the Prince George Pride Society has a number of events planned throughout the week, including Pride Trivia Night taking place on Thursday, July 11 at Deadfall Brewing.

President of the Prince George Pride Society, CJ Klitch says that the society had a very short time to prepare, but is looking forward to how it all turns out.

The 27th Annual Pride Parade will take place on Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m. at Canada Games Plaza.

The 2024 Pride Picnic presented by Northern B.C. Queer Connection Society goes Sunday, July 7 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park.
