City of Prince George to open cooling centres amidst heat wave

PRINCE GEORGE — The City of Prince George has responded to this week’s heat warnings by activating three cooling centres.

On Tuesday (July 9) and Wednesday (July 10), cooling centres downtown will be located at Pounds from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., the BC Schizophrenia Society from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and the Fire Pit from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Temperatures will begin to moderate by Thursday when a high of 24 is expected by Environment Canada.
