Environment Canada issues heat warning continuing into next week
PRINCE GEORGE— Environment Canada is predicting daytime highs of above thirty and overnight lows of in the mid teens continuing into the next week. While some may be looking forward to the heat the elevated temperatures pose a moderate health risk.
While heat effects everyone, children, seniors, and thos with pre-existing health conditions are at a greater risk. Ensure that you check on friends, family, and neighbours to make sure they have a cool space.
If you begin feeling unwell, tired, thirsty, have a headache, or unusually dark urine, it may be a sign of heat illness which could be fatal. Move to a cooler enviroment immediately and make sure you’re drinking plenty of water.
Anyone working in the heat should take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool or shaded space.
