JASPER — Volunteer firefighters from Beaverly, Valemount and McBride are in Jasper helping out with the devastating wildfire situation.
Social media posts show several buildings have been destroyed within the townsite. The exact number of buildings lost is unknown at this time.
In social media posts Thursday morning, Jasper National Park says there have been no reported injuries as a result of the Jasper Complex Wildfire. Approximately 25,000 people were safely evacuated from the town of Jasper and Jasper National Park on Monday.
Jasper National Park received a small amount of rain overnight and while it helped reduce fire activity slightly, officials say it is not enough to have a meaningful impact to the overall wildfire situation.
