PRINCE GEORGE — The third annual Sunflower Festival kicks off Thursday (Aug.8).

The festival is organized by the Northern Lights Estate Winery and will be the biggest yet.

Located at 1965 Foreman Road, this year’s festival will include flowers, more animals and new features such as the rubber ducky races and kids zip line. The on-site Bloom Cafe will also be back to serve up snacks and treats throughout the season as well as offering alcoholic options on select evenings.

“Sunflower Festival aims to celebrate the vibrant spirit of the Prince George community and the natural beauty that surrounds it. It provides an opportunity for locals and visitors alike to come together and enjoy the simple pleasures that nature has to offer. The event is expected to top the number of guests that visited last year and to attract visitors from across British Columbia and beyond, making it a significant tourism boost for the city.

This event is personally satisfying to me because I see how much my children, nieces, and nephews look forward to it,” said Doug Bell, Owner/ Operator of Northern Lights, “Its nice that we can continue to build off the success of previous years and add new experiences that will make a return trip worth it for everyone both local and from out of town.”

The festival is open Wednesdays to Sundays weekly and wraps up on September 2.

Tickets can be purchased online or can be acquired at the event entrance.
