UNBC Women’s soccer team prepare for home opener on Friday
PRINCE GEORGE— The UNBC women’s soccer team are back in Prince George this weekend for their home opener against the Thompson Rivers WolfPack. On Friday It’s EmpowHer Day at Masich Place Stadium where all self identifying females of any age who play sports get free admission to the match.
“Being a girl who grew up watching sports and there wasn’t a huge representation for that and watching it evolve over time, if that’s something we can do positively for the younger generations, then I think it’ll get all the girls super excited,” said fourth year midfielder Camryn Cline on how important EmpowHer Day is.
The Timberwolves are coming of a tough opening weekend, losing their first game of the season 4-0 to the Mount Royal Cougars and their second 4-1 to the Vikes in Victoria.
