Pedestrian killed in Highway 16 hit-and-run

VANDERHOOF — One person is dead following a hit-and-run Friday night (Sept.20) on Highway 16 near Jardine Road.

Vanderhoof RCMP and BC Highway Patrol were called to the scene of a collision there just before 9:30 p.m.

When police arrived, they discovered a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene. Sadly, the adult man was deceased.

The investigation is active and police are looking to the public to help further the investigation. If you were in the area of Highway 16 and Jardine Road Friday between 9 and 10 p.m. and have dash cam footage, saw the pedestrian, or have any information regarding this incident, you’re asked to contact BC Highway Patrol at (250)649-4004.
