Lightning strike affects over 300 BC Hydro customers

PRINCE GEORGE— Two separate power outages took place this Wednesday (Sept. 25) just before 4:00 p.m.

The first outage effected 342 customers in the Pineview area, east of Willow Cale road, north of Sintich road, West of Ellis road, and south of Guay road. The second outage effected 98 customers on the 3700 block of Landsdowne road. In addition, power bumps were felt across Prince George.

Mike Kellet of BC Hydro told CKPG News that there have been reports that the power outage was caused by lightning strike. Crews have been assigned to the outages.
