Cougars acquire goalie in trade with Spokane
PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars have completed a trade with the Spokane Chiefs.
The Cats have picked up 19-year-old goalie Cooper Michaluk in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2027 WHL Prospect’s draft.
Michaluk has played in 71 games for the Chiefs, compiling a record of 21-34-6. Last year, he was 12-13-3 with a 4.49 goals against average and a .871 save percentage. In two playoff games last year versus the Prince George Cougars, he was 0-2 with a .909 save percentage.
“He (Michaluk) is a goalie that we have seen a lot,” said General Manager and Head Coach Mark Lamb. “We were looking at adding depth and a goalie that is proven at this level to share with Ravensbergen.”
