Spruce Kings drop home opener to Express; rematch scheduled for Saturday

PRINCE GEORGE — In their B.C. Hockey League home opener, the Prince George Spruce Kings fell 4-1 to the Coquitlam Express on Friday (Sept. 27) at Kopar Memorial Arena.

Linden Makow scored for the Spruce Kings (2-2-0-0), with goaltender Carter Wishart making 17 saves in a losing effort.

James Shannon notched a pair of goals for the Express (3-0-0-0) and Joseph Odyniec and Thomas Zocco added singles.

Coquitlam netminder Eric Young stopped 31 shots to pick up the win between the pipes.
