Timberwolves’ soccer teams fall short on Saturday

The UNBC Timberwolves’ men and women suffered defeat on Saturday (Sept. 28) in Canada West soccer action.

On the men’s side, it was a heartbreaker.

After coming back to tie the game at 3-3, the T-Wolves conceded a goal in second-half stoppage time to fall 4-3 to the visiting Trinity Western Spartans of Langley.

Connor Lewis scored twice and Isaac Tate added a single for the T-Wolves, who dropped to 1-8-2. Trinity improved to 3-4-1.

The rematch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 29) at Masich Place Stadium.

On the women’s side, the TRU WolfPack (3-5-1) earned a 1-0 victory over UNBC on Saturday in Kamloops.

The Timberwolves dropped to 1-7 on the season.
