Cougars atop Western Conference after win over hometown T-Birds

KENT, WASH. — Carlin Dezainde had two goals and one helper for the Prince George Cougars in a 5-2 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds in WHL action on Friday (Oct. 4) in Kent, Wash.

Jett Lajoie, Viliam Kmec and Borya Valis also scored for the Cats, whose goaltender, Joshua Ravensbergen, stopped 27 shots to pick up the victory between the pipes.

Arjun Bawa and Sam Charko tallied for the T-Birds, with netminder Grayson Malinoski making 24 saves in a losing effort.

The Cougars improved to 4-1 and sit alone atop the Western Conference ahead of tonight’s matchup against the Winterhawks (3-1-0-0) in Portland.
