Hunter and his dog go missing in Chetwynd

CHETWYND — Search and rescue teams have been mobilized to help find a missing hunter.

North District RCMP say James Joseph Edmund Barnes has been missing since Friday after going grouse hunting in the Chetwynd area.

Barnes went hunting in his grey Chevy pickup with his dog Murphy, a golden retriever and was last seen between 11 and 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18, on the Ground Birch Road off the 269 Road.

His vehicle has been located, however James and his dog are nowhere to be seen.

Barnes is 28-years-old, five foot 11, 201 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and a big mustache.
