PRINCE GEORGE— The D.P Todd AA boys volleyball team is hosting the North Central Zone tournament this weekend with a spot in the Provincials on the line.

“We’ve been ranked in the top ten all year. Duchess Park and College Heights have now come in there as well, so there are three very good teams going for two spots. Shas Ti Kelly in there can also can’t be forgotten. They’re a good team as well,” said D.P. Todd Head Coach Cameron Young on the tough competition.

There is six teams from the zone competing in the tournament, with four coming from Prince George, one from 100 Mile and the other from Vanderhoof.

While D.P. Todd are currently the top ranked team in the zone at number four in British Columbia, they still have to perform this weekend at home. Especially if they want to make sure this won’t be their graduating students final weekend.

“It’s pretty big considering it’s our last year, and we’ve been working hard all season for this tournament,” said senior Kishaun Campbell.

“It means a lot to me and the team. It’s just fun having zones in your own gym, playing here for years,” said senior Zachary Kynoch.

The tournament commences at 4 P.M. on Friday and concludes with the gold medal match at 4:20 P.M. on Saturday.
