PRINCE GEORGE – A familiar face has been awarded the third annual Bob Scott Award.

Shirley Bond is the third recipient of the Bob Scott Award by making a difference in the community.

DART was developed in 1997 by Bob Scott – himself a recovered addict – to meet the needs of those in recovery.

DART has given Bond this award for her advocacy work in the North, for the North. Bob’s daughter was in the city last night to bestow the award on Bond, someone she had never met before.

“She shared a really profound story about the first time she met my dad,” says Sara Lindsay. “He had walked into her office kind of looking as he did. He looked like an addict and she was kind of like, take him back. What does he want? You know? And then, you know what? She let him have a voice and she really listened to his voice and realized how much that he had to say.”
