Cougars stifled by 16-year-old goaltender in second consecutive game
EDMONTON — The Prince George Cougars will be coming back home from Alberta with zero points from two games this weekend.
Debutant Parker Snell, 16, stopped all 29 shots he faced for his first WHL shutout as the Edmonton Oil Kings blanked the Cougars 5-0 at Rogers Place Saturday (Nov. 30) night.
It’s the third successive loss for the Cougars, and the second consecutive defeat at the hands of a 16-year-old rookie goaltender after Peyton Shore led the Red Deer Rebels to a 3-2 win Friday night.
The loss drops Prince George to second in the BC Division, two points back of the Victoria Royals who picked up three of a possible four points this weekend.
