PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP need your help in their investigation of the Red Rock weigh scale fire on Christmas Eve.

The fire was reported to police at around 6:20 a.m. that day resulting in $850,000 worth of damages. It’s currently being investigated as suspicious.

“Emergency responders arriving at the location noted two pick up trucks leaving the vicinity but were not able to obtain any license plate information to provide to investigators,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“Police officers are also looking into orange spray-paint graffiti on a nearby sea-can that was, according to employees at the location, not there the previous day. The graffiti reads, good job McCreadie. Police believe it may be related to several recent impaired driving investigations and that the graffiti and the arson are connected.”

Cooper says investigators are hoping that someone passing by that section of the highway might have dash camera footage that caught people or vehicles approaching or leaving the area in the time before the fire was reported to police. If you have information relating to this investigation, please call the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3321 to speak with an investigator.
