Northern Capitals to battle for first provincial title since 2016
PRINCE GEORGE— The Northern Capitals are headed to the provincial finals this weekend after an impressive showing in their semi final match up against the Fraser Valley Rush. Despite dropping the final three games against the Rush in the regular season, the Caps swept them this past weekend on their home ice in Langley.
“It speaks to the growth of this team, the resiliency, and how far we’ve come since September. I don’t know if we would have been able to make a push like that earlier in the year, but now we’re more than capable of it. It’s exactly where we want to be heading into the finals,” said Capitals Head Coach, Hayden-James Berra.
As they head into the finals, they’ll certainly be the underdogs against the Greater Vancouver Comets, who’ve lost just two games all season long, but regardless of the outcome, it’s already been a very successful campaign.
