PRINCE GEORGE – The Spruce Kings have chosen the lucky winner of a new home on Links Drive.
After selling a record number of tickets on the final day, Prince George resident Mark Hippe has won the $865,000 home in the Aberdeen Glen subdivision. The Spruce Kings have been in Prince George for 53 years, and this is the 43rd year for the show home lottery.
“It goes for it goes from everything. We start with our players. You know, we spend more nights in a hotel than any other team in our league,” explains Kyle Anderson, Executive Director of Business Operations for the team. “We spent 39 [nights] in hotels this year. You know, that’s two players to a room. We have 16 hotel rooms every trip that we’re on across the province. So you add the meals, their bus, fuel, bus maintenance, dressing room maintenance, all the uniforms you see, all the equipment that you see on the external part of it for the players is all supplied by the Spruce Kings.”
