B-C’s Ministry of Health says it is investing $500,000 to the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation to conduct a feasibility study to help design a northern youth support centre in the region.
It says the move builds on previous consultation with communities about the hub, which was led by the First Nation with support from the province.
That consultation was conducted over three months and was held in person in communities across the north as well as online — which the ministry says found there was a demand for a more holistic, equitable and culturally safe wellness supports for children and youth to build on existing programs and services.
The province says the feasibility study is expected to be complete this year.
