Spruce Kings pick up another new commit

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings have announced a commit to the team.

2005 born Marcus Lougheed from Collingwood, Ontario is the newest member of the Spruce Kings. The forward is 5’10, 180 pounds, who “spent the last four seasons with his hometown Collingwood Blues of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.”

Lougheed scored 26 goals and added 36 assists for 62 points in 55 games. He is committed to Lake Superior State University for 2026-2027.

A news release from the Spruce Kings says that:

“While with the Blues, Lougheed won the OJHL Championship twice, and the Centennial Cup National Championship once, and was the team captain in 2024-2025. Overall his junior career has spanned 184 Regular Season and 56 OJHL playoff/National Championship games where he has put up an impressive 82 goals and 100 assists.”

Spruce Kings General Manager said that Lougheed is “not only a very good player but a person of high character with great leadership abilities.”

Lougheed says he “heard really good things about the organization and am excited to learn from the great staff and further my game.”
