Tomatoes, tunes, and traffic: The Dancing Produce Tour fills CN Centre parking lot

PRINCE GEORGE – If you drove by the CN Centre parking lot on Monday morning, you might have noticed several vehicles. Some people might think it was a traffic jam caused by concertgoers heading to a rock concert. However, the early morning congestion was due to the produce sellers who dance while selling their produce.

The music and dancing started at 7 AM on Monday. Before the crew from Desert Hills Ranch in Ashcroft could set up, a line of cars began to form. The unique way this crew sells their produce has become increasingly popular among the locals.

Many people are loading the vehicles initially from Mexico. Sometimes, they ask people to get out of their cars and dance to the Mexican music blasting across the parking lot.

A majority of the produce is grown in Ashcroft, where Desert Hills Ranch found that the soil and climate allow the farmers to grow produce that can’t be grown in many places in Canada.

There are plans in the works for the Desert Hills Ranch to return sometime again this season with freshly picked produce and a music playlist.
