Early morning gas station robbery on 1st & George

PRINCE GEORGE —Update: RCMP say one of the suspects they arrested has been released while the other will remain in-custody awaiting a bail hearing.

RCMP say there are working to identify three other suspects. Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed or who may have cell phone or dash camera footage of the robbery or who has video surveillance from that area to contact them.

Earlier: Prince George RCMP is investigating an early morning gas station robbery.

It happened at approximately 4 a.m. Thursday (July 31) morning at the Canco Gas + One Stop Convenience Store at 1st Avenue and George Street.

The store manager, who asked to remain anonymous, says four suspects broke into the store by breaking a window and stole cash and goods – including cigarettes.

The manager told CKPG News that he’s robbed an average of once per month and has had to replace the glass in his store several times.

He said he is “very frustrated” by the constant amount of crime affecting his business. RCMP arrested the other pair.
