PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George has been the backdrop for numerous films and documentaries over the years. Recently, a film crew has been working at various locations throughout the city. What sets this film apart is that it is created by a group of local friends who are passionate about making movies.

“Making films with friends is one of the biggest aspects of this whole endeavour.”

Devon Kavanagh is one of the producers behind a horror film currently being filmed in Prince George. After nearly a decade in the making, Devon and his friends have come together to bring the script for “Hypnonaut” to life.

The film secured a $20,000 grant from Storyhive, leading to the decision to film it locally..

After making a few adjustments, the script was updated to better align with the lifestyles of some people who work and live in the region.

The aim is to wrap up the shooting schedule by August, with the hope of having their first public screening on Halloween.

“The biggest thing for me. You can make movies anywhere. You don’t need to be in a big city. Make them at home. You know, they call them home movies for a reason. Yeah. And grab some friends, bring your friends along and make some home movies.”
