BC Conservatives update critic portfolios

Oct 1, 2025 | 9:00 AM

PRINCE GEORGE — In the run up to the resumption of the Legislature on Monday, October 6, the BC Conservatives have updated their critic portfolios.

Prince George-Valemount MLA Rosalyn Bird moves from Citizens’ Services Critic to the Critic for Children & Family Development while Sheldon Clare moves from Deputy Caucus Whip to the Critic for Environment, Parks, Emergency Management & Climate Readiness. Kiel Giddens stays in his role as Labour Critic.

“This is a team built for the fight ahead,” said Leader John Rustad. “British Columbians are facing a government that is obsessed with ideology, red tape, and reckless spending — while our communities struggle with crime, collapsing health care, housing chaos, and the total collapse of business confidence. Our critics are experienced, passionate, and focused on delivering common-sense solutions and restoring a government the delivers on what British Columbians desperately need.”

“Our job as the Official Opposition is clear — to stand up for families, small businesses, and communities that this government has left behind,” Rustad added. “From skyrocketing deficits and insider contracts to ideological land policies that undermine property rights, British Columbians deserve a government that works for them — not against them.”
