CFSEU-BC launches dedicated gang enforcement team for northern B.C.
PRINCE GEORGE – The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia is launching a dedicated North District Uniform Gang Enforcement Team to combat organized crime across Northern B.C., officials announced. The new team responds to increasing demand for sustained enforcement in the region, where criminal organizations continue to expand drug-trafficking routes and move weapons through remote and rural communities.
Between 2020 and 2024, CFSEU-BC’s gang enforcement teams deployed to Northern B.C. 28 times, representing 26 percent of all provincial deployments. As of September 2025, teams have already been dispatched 33 times, including six missions to the North District. The escalating activity prompted officials to establish a permanent presence in the region.
From January 2023 to September 2025, provincial gang enforcement efforts resulted in significant seizures: more than 1.2 million dollars in illicit proceeds, 192 firearms, 194 kilograms of illegal drugs, 24 vehicles, 99 firearm components, and 1,415 additional weapons. These outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of targeting gang-related activity and removing dangerous weapons from communities.
