A little holiday magic as Santa lifts spirits in hospital wards

PRINCE GEORGE – Santa Claus is spreading holiday cheer at the UHNBC today by sharing joy with children facing difficult times.

Thanks to the hard work of community groups and volunteers, this special visit has become a delightful event, with gifts handed out to young patients across various hospital wards. To bring a little joy to an otherwise challenging day, Santa delivered gifts to children in the pediatric unit, maternity ward, and ICU.

Organizers emphasize that year-round toy drives from community groups ensure that kids receive gifts during tough times, not just at Christmas. Hospital staff note that Santa’s jingling bells and cheerful “ho ho ho” lift spirits, providing relief for both children and their parents.

“You hear the bells, you hear the ho ho ho. And it lightens your mood. But definitely, you know, even speaking as a mother myself, who spent some time in pedes, you’re kind of going through the days, and they can be long and kind of drawn, but, you know, getting a little gift just perks the kids right up.”
