Two people injured in Highway 97 North motor vehicle incidents

PRINCE GEORGE — Two people were injured in a pair of motor-vehicle crashes on Highway 97 North on Thursday (Dec.18).

One person was transported to hospital in a two-vehicle crash and another taken to hospital in stable condition following a five-vehicle crash.

The first accident occurred just before 1 p.m. while the second occurred at around 230 p.m. Both incidents occurred about five kilometres north of Summit Lake and lead to traffic backups on the highway.

In both cases, BC Emergency Health Services provided emergency medical treatment to the injured individuals. Prince George RCMP attributed the crashes to icy road conditions.
