Penticton beats Cougars in OT

PENTICTON — The Penticton Vees beat the Prince George Cougars in heartbreaking fashion Thursday, 6-5 in overtime.
The Vees came back from a 5-3 deficit in the third period to win, including a game tying goal by Nolan Stevenson to tie the game with a 1:31 left on the clock.
Ethan Weber scored the game winner 26 seconds into overtime for the win. Townes Kozicky, Brock Souch, Kooper Gizowski, Dmitri Yakutsenak, and Shaun Rios scored the goals for Prince George who were outshot 45-21 before 3,613 fans at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
The Cougars are back on the ice Saturday night when they host the Calgary Hitmen at 6 p.m. at the CN Centre.
