220 Students Get Free Theatre Field Trip
PRINCE GEORGE – A local elementary school has just found out their entire school will get a free field trip to the theatre. It’s a unique chance for students at Ron Brent Elementary to be exposed to the arts, as they have no fine arts teacher.
The school is being hosted by Theatre North West, through a grant from Kiwanis Prince George. Kiwanis announced this week it’s donating $42,000 to eight Prince George organizations to benefit kids and families. Some of that money will be spent to cover the field trip.
Grade six student Nevaeh McCoy has never seen a theatre production in PG. “It’ll mean a lot to me, especially to go with my friends and teachers,” says McCoy.
Ron Brent Elementary will head out to see a production of Robinson Crusoe & Friday on May 18th.
