BC Hydro says there are some ‘spooky’ things going on in your home, that you may not know about when it comes to power. Hydro is suggesting that customers look around their home to find old electronics that are still plugged in that might be sucking up too much power. Including VCR’s. Bob Gammer with BC Hydro’s Northern Branch says there are 25 different electronics that suck phantom power, driving up costs in one’s home. That includes the 12,000 or so individuals who own a VCR in Prince George. Gammer suggests you unplug or recycle old electronics. Costs are said to be driven up almost 10 percent from old electronics just being plugged into your wall.
