PRINCE GEORGE – A groundbreaking event is bringing queer voices, art, and connections to the North. Today in Prince George, community members from across northern B.C. gathered for the Voices & Culture Summit, which provides a space to learn, celebrate, and connect right here in the region.

This is the first time the summit has taken place in Prince George, and organizers emphasize its role in fostering community. The summit opened its doors this Friday, focusing on 2SLGBTQIA+ experiences in northern areas, where representation and connection can often be challenging to find.

Throughout the day, there will be panel discussions, art exhibitions, and personal stories, as well as evening performances and celebrations. For those attending, the summit goes beyond being just a conference; it offers an opportunity to feel acknowledged and celebrated in the North.

With activities ranging from educational discussions to drag shows, burlesque performances, and community markets, the summit is designed to be interactive, emphasizing connection rather than mere conversation. As the inaugural Voices & Culture Summit concludes this weekend in Prince George, both organizers and participants express that it marks a significant step in building lasting, meaningful community ties across northern British Columbia.
