PRINCE GEORGE – School District 57 has a new Board of Education and it plans to embark on a new endeavour. It’s called an Equity Scan.

“The Equity Scan is really an opportunity to work with the Ministry of Education to start off with a self-assessment with regards to creating equity between our indigenous and non-indigenous graduation rates,” explains Tim Bennett, Board Chair.

Other districts in the province have undertaken similar exercises, such as District 91.

“We have 13 First Nations communities in our school district. So we’ve built up a great rapport,” says Nadine Frenkel, Vice Chair of the District.
