Wanted man on sex charges known to frequent the Cariboo

MAPLE RIDGE — RCMP say a man wanted on sex charges is known to frequent the Cariboo region.

Ridge Meadows RCMP say 53-year-old James Smart has an outstanding arrest warrant as he failed to attend court for sentencing stemming from an investigation in Maple Ridge in 2019. 

Smart has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography, Assault, Sexual Interference, Sexual Exploitation, Uttering Threats, and Sexual Assault. 

He is also known to travel outside the lower mainland and frequent the B.C. Cariboo region.
