Cougars take 3-0 series lead following OT win in Spokane

SPOKANE — Aresenni Anisimov scored 1:06 into overtime tonight (Mon) to lead the Prince George Cougars to a 3-2 win over the Spokane Chiefs before 3,529 fans at Numerica Veterans Arena.
The win gives the Cougars a commanding 3-0 series lead. It was Anisimov’s second goal of the playoffs. Brock Souch had his fourth goal of the playoffs and Kayden Lemire had his first goal in the second period. Coco Armstrong and Tyus Sparks replied for the Chiefs.
The teams had 32 shots apiece with Joshua Ravensbergen picking up the win in net for Prince George. Carter Esler took the loss for Spokane.
The Cougars can clinch the series Wednesday night when the teams meet again in Spokane.
