PRINCE GEORGE – The community has lost one of the strongest First Nations leaders. Former Chief Barry Seymour passed on April 3rd.

The former Chief of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nations, Barry Seymour was instrumental in establishing the local First Nations culture into the community, with things like the Lheidli T’enneh cemetary. According to the Lheidli T’enneh Council’s website, Seymour was “a teacher, a knowledge keeper, and steady voice who helped keep our culture, language and traditions strong.”

One local individual knew him for decades and recalls his work with The Exploration Place.
