Cougars steal home ice advantage with game 1 win in Penticton

PENTICTON — The Prince George Cougars stormed into Penticton Friday night and left with home ice advantage defeating the freshmen franchise 4-1 in game 1 of their second round WHL playoff series.
The Cougars scored the first four goals of the hockey game, with Jett Lajoie getting the party started midway through the opening period. Terik Parascak would add two in the contest including an empty netter, with Lee Shurgot also bulging the twine in the victory.
The Penticton Vees only goal of the game came with 62 seconds left, as they would end the shutout bid from Joshua Ravensbergen who made 34 stops for the win.
Game two is set to go Saturday at 7:00 p.m. from Penticton. The series shifts back to PG for game three on Tuesday.
