Spruce Kings’ Ozbej Rep nominated for BCHL’s top defenceman award
PRINCE GEORGE — Ozbej Rep of the Prince George Spruce Kings has been nominated for the BCHL’s top defenceman award.
The 20-year-old Slovenian led the BC Hockey League in points (52) and assists (46) by a defenceman during the 2025-26 regular season, as the 34-17-3-0 Spruce Kings finished atop the Coastal East conference after their slate of 54 games.
Rep was two assists back of the overall league lead, but he finished with the most power-play points among all BCHL skaters with 33, as well as the most power-play assists with 30. He also recorded 15 multi-point games this season.
Rep will square off against Wyatt Davis of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and Erik Kald of the Sherwood Park Crusaders, who were also named finalists.
