Spruce Kings force Game 7 after decisive playoff win in Langley
LANGLEY, B.C. — There will be a Game 7 at Kopar Memorial Arena on Tuesday (April 14) night.
The Prince George Spruce Kings beat the Langley Rivermen 4-1 in game six Sunday night, to force a winner-take-all game in their first round BCHL playoff series.
The Spruce Kings got goals from Marcus Lougheed in the first period, Nick Bianchi and Mathis Laplante in the second and River Arnason in the third at the George Preston Arena. Parker Forlin scored Langley’s only goal – on the power play in the first period, that made it a 1-1 affair at the time.
Spruce Kings netminder Colin Reay stopped 16 of 17 shots to pick up the win, while Langley’s Eric Young stopped 33 of 37 in a losing cause. PG gave up just seven shots across the final two periods last night.
