Quesnel woman ‘over the moon’ following Lotto 6/49 win

QUESNEL — A Quesnel woman plans to pay off her mortgage after winning $76,199.40 playing Lotto 6/49.

Linda S. matched five out of six numbers plus the bonus from the April 8, 2026 draw.

“I passed my tickets to the retailer,” recalled Linda, of the moment she learned she won. “She told me she couldn’t cash the ticket since it was too much. I thought it was $1,000 and was told it was much more. She motioned for me to go behind the terminal to show me what I had won. I screamed and hugged her, it was amazing.”  

Along with paying off her mortgage, Linda also plans to complete some home renovations.
