PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George kicked off its annual Kids in Parks Passport program on May 1. Families can explore the city’s parks until July 31 for a chance to win. Parks and Recreation Coordinator Michelle Lequeruex says the passport encourages families to visit parks they might not usually explore. Prince George has over 100 parks covering more than 1,500 hectares, which is about the size of five Stanley Parks. These parks include playgrounds, hiking trails, and nature reserves like Ferguson Lake.

Families can pick up a paper passport at City Hall or the Prince George Public Library, or download one from the city’s website. The passport leads families through seven parks, with an extra bonus stop. At each park, participants answer questions and then submit their completed passport by photo or in person.

The first 50 people to enter will get a swim pass for a city pool. Everyone who submits their entry by July 31 will be entered into a draw for more prizes.
