Construction underway for two new Prince George grocery stores
PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George is seeing significant, community changing developments, as two new grocery stores are currently being built. A No Frills is coming to the Hart, off the Hart Highway on Handlen Road, while a Freshco is being built on Recplace Drive, in the same parking lot as the Canadian Brewhouse and Goodlife Fitness.
“That’s exciting because it says that there’s enough confidence in this community that there’s going to be growth, there’s going to be people buying groceries, that we will get those. And what that also means is a really healthy, competitive environment,” said Prince George City Councillor Garth Frizzell.
For community members in the Hart, seeing construction already underway for the No Frills is especially exciting, as they say it brings much needed competition and diversity to a growing, but under-represented, part of Prince George.
