Rally for Iran

PRINCE GEORGE – A group in Prince George is planning a peaceful car rally on Saturday to raise awareness about what is happening in Iran.

Spokesperson Fatemeh Namaei says members of the local Persian community feel they must speak up for those being silenced by political repression.

Namaei says the event is especially meaningful because organizers want to honour Iranian mothers who have lost children during political unrest.

“We feel this responsibility to amplify the voice of the voiceless,” Namaei said.

She says the rally is also meant to bring people together, encouraging Prince George residents to join, share information, and help draw attention to what organizers call ongoing suffering in Iran.

The rally is expected to bring together families, supporters, and others from the wider community.

The car rally will meet at a public parking lot at 775 Dominion Street, starting at 2:30 pm.
